Base Carbon funded the manufacturing and distribution of 850,000 fuel-efficient cookstoves and 364,000 safe-drinking water purifiers to families in rural areas of Vietnam.

Project Overview

  • In May 2022, Base Carbon entered into an agreement to fund the manufacturing and distribution of 850,000 fuel-efficient cookstoves and 364,000 safe-drinking water purifiers to families in rural areas of Vietnam.
  • Distribution completed in early 2023, four months ahead of schedule and on budget.
  • ~3.0 million carbon credits issued as of April 2024.

About This Project

  • Project partner SIPCO, in collaboration with the Women’s Union of Vietnam, has successfully completed the distribution of a total of 1.2 million household devices to participating households.
  • Citigroup is contracted to purchase the first 7.4 million carbon credits generated from the Vietnam Household Devices project.
  • INTRACO, SIPCO’s parent company, has developed 100+ registered carbon project to date on behalf of many well-known multinational corporations.
  • The Women’s Union of Vietnam (17+ million members) provides device distribution services as well as continuous education and support to participating households.
